Introducing Ecolume
Designing an energy-efficient lighting solutions website that communicates clarity, sustainability, and value.
Ecolume is a brand focused on delivering eco-friendly, energy-efficient lighting products that help homes, businesses, and communities reduce energy cost and environmental impact. The objective of this project was to design a website that clearly presents Ecolume’s mission, products, and benefits in a way that’s both informative and persuasive.
1. Discover – Understanding the Problem
Understanding the product and the user’s expectations was the first step.
Project Goals:
I collaborated with the brand team to define Ecolume’s core value propositions — sustainability, energy savings, and modern design.
Challenges Identified:
The concept of energy-efficient lighting can feel technical and abstract to many users.
Users needed to quickly grasp what Ecolume products do and how they improve their lives.
Testimonials and proof points were limited, so visual clarity and messaging hierarchy were essential.
Key Insight:
Users wanted a simple explanation of how switching to energy-efficient lighting cuts costs and supports sustainability.
2. Ideate – Exploring Concepts
With a foundation of goals and insights, I began sketching and structuring content.
Content Structuring:
I prioritized sections that explain why energy-efficient lighting matters, what Ecolume offers, and how users benefit — followed by clear product showcases.
Wireframing:
Low-fidelity frames helped determine hierarchy and placement of key elements: headline, mission, product categories, benefits, and CTAs.
Decision:
A straightforward layout with bold messaging, product previews, and engaging visuals was chosen to guide users smoothly through the narrative.
3. Design – Bringing the Concept to Life
This phase involved creating polished, user-centered visuals.
Design Tools:
The interface and layout were crafted in Figma to balance aesthetics and usability.
Visual Direction:
Clean typography for readability
Consistent spacing to reduce clutter
Product imagery and lifestyle shots to build trust
Section transitions that keep users engaged
Outcome:
A modern, visually appealing website that communicates Ecolume’s mission and products with confidence and clarity.
4. Test & Refine – Perfecting the Experience
To confirm the design met user needs:
Feedback Review:
I conducted design checks for legibility, flow, and responsiveness across devices.
Refinements:
Streamlined copy to reduce cognitive load
Improved spacing for mobile readability
Enhanced CTA placement to increase engagement
5. Deliver – Final Output
After refining, the final design was packaged and shared for implementation.
Deliverables:
Fully responsive website design
Organized design files and style guidelines
Documentation for future iterations
Collaboration:
Worked closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation and preserve design intent.
Conclusion
The final Ecolume website presents energy-efficient lighting solutions in a modern, accessible way — making it easy for users to understand product value and take action.
Great design isn’t just about visuals — it’s about simplifying decision-making and aligning user goals with business outcomes.
